Fraudulent calls from "banks"/ Cybersecurity experts: Do not give out

If you receive a call and someone posing as a bank employee asks for your bank card details or other personal information, do not give it to them, even if the bank's name or logo appears on your phone screen.

It could be an attempt to scam you and interfere with your accounts. The concern is raised by the National Cyber Security Authority.

"We have also received indications from various citizens who have reported as a concern that there are phone calls that are made electronically, use online platforms, receive indications from various sources from gmail, social networks, Instagram, Facebook or others, and use bank logos to illustrate that they are the points of contact and on the other hand, having people who work with interstate banks speak foreign languages to make it more credible," said the expert.

Specialists call on citizens to be vigilant and report the case to the bank.

"Banks never ask for personal data or credentials or security codes over the phone. They must definitely verify the contacts they receive from these banks, that the banks that are official in Albania have official communications, verify what communications they have had before with the banks, whether they were legitimate or not, if they have encountered anomalies that something is not right, immediately report it to the contact points they have at the banks," he added.

The calls are made via the internet and, according to specialists, the true identity of the caller cannot be verified through the addresses of online platforms, therefore their appeal comes not to share any information and to immediately end the call.
