Tests give hope/ A new smart cancer drug completely eliminates tumors

A revolutionary new treatment has achieved unprecedented results in medicine, completely eradicating tumors in some patients with advanced cancer. It is a triple-action injection, which was tested on patients who no longer responded to traditional chemotherapy or immunotherapy.
The drug called Amivantamab, developed by Johnson & Johnson, was tested in an international project in 11 countries. The clinical trials involved 102 patients with head and neck cancer (the sixth most common type in the world). The results were surprising! In more than a third of the patients (43 people), the tumors shrank significantly, while in 15 cases they completely disappeared within a few weeks.
According to scientists from the Institute of Cancer Research in London (ICR), this discovery is a giant step forward. The patients included in the study had a limited life expectancy and few treatment options. Moreover, the treatment has shown similar efficacy in patients with lung cancer. It is currently being evaluated in about 60 other clinical trials for tumors in the brain, stomach and bowel.
How does this "vaccine" work? This smart drug attacks cancer in three ways: It blocks the EGFR protein, which helps tumors grow. It blocks the MET pathway, which cancer cells use to escape treatment. It activates the patient's own immune system to attack the disease.
Unlike conventional vigono treatments, this drug is given as a simple injection under the skin every three weeks, making the process faster and easier. Side effects were mostly mild, allowing patients to return to normal lives, speak without pain, and eat regularly.
