Eight injured in fires/ Residents: We lost everything, the state should

Eight people ended up in hospital from the fire in Gramsh. Fortunately, none of them had serious complications, only respiratory problems.

Until now, only two of them continue to stay at the Gramsh regional hospital, while the others have left its premises.

Residents recount the moment when flames engulfed the village's houses.

"My father-in-law was the one who died. I couldn't save him. Everything was over. The livestock and houses were burned. Some villages were completely burned down. In two minutes, the whole of Albania was burned down. We were watching the flames on the mountain, when it came to our house. I cut down some trees so that the fire wouldn't start. I couldn't stand it anymore. The fire reached the house. I didn't leave it. I had three buckets of water, I had 90 cubic meters of water in the house," the injured said from the hospital.

The director of the national emergency, Skënder Brataj, stressed that the injured are out of danger to their lives, they arrived at the hospital with signs of anxiety and intoxication.

Residents left in the open are appealing to the state to measure the damage caused and compensate them.

" We left our cows, our house, everything there. Where can we put them? We have no clothes, nothing. When the fire broke out on the houses in the other neighborhood, we decided to flee the house. 10 meters of fire from the house. The state should come and check where we live. Our supplies have been completely burned. I have a stable in the mountains, but I found out that my cows went to the meadow. I have 30 cows, 110 heads of cattle ," the residents continued.

Albania has been under the power of flames for nearly a month, while firefighters, the army, and the police are on the ground to make it possible to isolate each hearth.
