Murder of former police officer Santiago Malko, GJKKO Appeal decides for Blendi Tetë

The appeal of the GJKKO has upheld the 25-year prison sentence for Blendi Teta, accused of being involved in the murder of former police officer Santiago Malko in 2019.

" The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime decided: Upholding decision no. 05, dated 26.01.2022, of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.
The costs of the appeal trial are charged to the defendant. This decision may be appealed to the High Court within 45 days, starting from the day after the notification of the reasoned decision," the official announcement states.

Santiago Malko, a former police officer, was executed on the evening of August 27, 2019, with a hail of bullets in the "Xhamlliku" area of ​​Tirana.
