Fire in Sheqisht, Patos/ Flames break out during the process of joining plastic pipes

A fire broke out this afternoon in the village of Sheqisht, Patos.

The flames broke out during the process of joining plastic pipes, which were being used as part of an investment by the Drainage Board to take water from the Roskovec swamps, for the purpose of irrigating agricultural lands.

As a result of high temperatures and flammable material, the pipes caught fire, which spread rapidly, covering the area with thick clouds of black smoke.

Three fire engines and a fire truck responded to the scene, helping to locate and extinguish the flames.
