Fire engulfs pine forest in Patos, wind spreads flames

A large-scale fire broke out this Wednesday afternoon in the forest of decades-old pine trees in the village of Gjinoqarë, in the municipality of Patos.

It is learned that the wind is helping to spread the flames, while the terrain is very rugged and makes it impossible for firefighters to intervene.

It is reported that 4 fire trucks from Patos and Mallakastra have gone to the scene, but intervention is impossible.

It is learned that firefighters and village residents are working with emergency equipment to prevent the fire from spreading to even larger proportions.
