Bedri Hamza resigns as PDK leader

Bedri Hamza has irrevocably resigned from the post of chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), paving the way for a new electoral process within the party.
Hamza announced the decision on Wednesday, when he also notified the PDK Presidency.
During his leadership, according to him, the main focus has been maintaining the unity of the party.
" I am not leaving PDK. I am only leaving the position of chairman, but not from the belief in our political values ," Hamza declared.
He said that he had hoped that after September 16, he would return the leadership of the party to the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who were sentenced to a total of 81 years in prison, while their battle will continue in the Appeals Court.
He mentioned Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi, emphasizing that efforts for justice will continue.
Hamza's resignation is expected to pave the way for new developments in the leadership of the PDK and the organization of a new electoral process within the party.
