Tirana-Durrës Highway blocked, ARRSH announces traffic schedules and diversions due to works

Drivers of vehicles circulating on the Tirana-Durrës highway should be careful! Due to the works for the installation of transverse beams as part of the highway expansion project (Phase III), the Albanian Road Traffic Authority has announced the temporary closure of traffic on both sides over the next two nights.

Blockage details and deviations by axis:

In the Tirana-Durrës direction (Today, September 21, 23:00 – 05:00):

Traffic will be temporarily blocked. Traffic will be diverted via the ramp to Rinas, continuing on the secondary road to return to the expressway via Rinas Road and the ramp to Durrës. For heavy vehicles (trucks): The diversion must be made from the “Casa Italia” roundabout to avoid damage to the provisional Rinas ramp.

In the direction Durrës–Tirana (Tomorrow, September 22, 23:00 – 05:00):

Traffic will be temporarily blocked. Traffic will be diverted through the Kashar-Thumanë overpass, continuing on the secondary road (left side) until after the Kashar overpass, where it returns to the highway towards Tirana. For vehicles destined for Rinas, Shkodër and Kosovo: They will be directed to the Kashar-Thumanë highway overpass.

Announcement:

As part of the ongoing works for the implementation of the project "Expansion of the Tirana-Durres Superhighway (Phase III)", and in implementation of the Traffic Management Plan, works will be carried out to install transverse beams in the middle span of the overpass.

For the safe implementation of these works, today, September 21, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, traffic in the Tirana-Durres direction will be temporarily blocked.

Traffic will be diverted via the ramp towards Rinas and then continue on the secondary road from where they can re-enter the expressway via Rinas road and its ramp towards Durrës.

For heavy vehicles, especially trucks, the diversion needs to be made from the "Casa Italia" roundabout, in order to avoid using and damaging the temporary Rinas ramp.

On September 22, from 23:00 to 05:00, traffic in the Durrës-Tirana direction will be temporarily blocked.

Traffic will be diverted via the Kashar-Thumanë overpass, continuing on the secondary road on the left side until after the Kashar overpass, where it will return to the highway towards Tirana.

Vehicles destined for Rinas, Shkodër and Kosovo: will be signaled and directed at the Kashar-Thumanë highway overpass to continue in the respective direction.

During periods of congestion, traffic will be diverted to secondary roads on both sides of the expressway, in accordance with the signage and measures set out in the Traffic Management Plan.

The ARA requests the understanding and cooperation of drivers, businesses, and residents of the area regarding the temporary traffic restrictions.

Drivers are recommended to plan their route in advance and avoid, as much as possible, driving on this segment during the work period.
