Luciano Boçi commented on the process of electing deputy leaders in the Democratic Party, a process after which he lost the position of deputy leader. His place was taken by Belind Këlliçi.
"The moment of voting is a moment that has many elements inside, it is not very pure as a moment, it is very subjective, it is not very objective. We both had the same opportunities. I don't think that Këlliçi lobbied more. These are things that have their own relativity. I will not go into details," said Boçi in the "Puls" studio by Bruna Çifligu, on A2CNN.
When asked about Berisha's statement that "this is the best team in history", Boçi replied: "It is Mr. Berisha's right to give that definition. It is the party leader's team in this case and it is the party leader's right to give an opinion. He makes a comparison of the teams continuously. The teams also depend on the political momentum. This momentum is not the same as that of four years ago, when we were facing a very difficult situation and where the existence of the Democratic Party was at stake. I am speaking about the moment that I was elected vice-chairman of the Democratic Party. Usually, we as a society suffer from amnesia, but political parties in Albania also suffer from amnesia. They must also consider what has happened and the same situations cannot be compared. So, it was a completely different situation then and you cannot say that that team was not good either. We have a completely different situation now for what is coming, it is the party leader's right to give such characteristics."
Further, Boçi was also asked about "Mulism".
"If I had put forward this as a thesis, I would have every right to present it and give an answer. Defining such terms, because we have heard many things with "isms", is the right of those who transmit and discuss it. I do not believe that I should be the one to define and give my stamp to such things. But, time will show many elements. That thought, that discussion that is healthy in the DP cannot be extinguished. If the discussion or debate is extinguished, then it means that that internal democracy is failing. Meanwhile, I consider it a sign of the healthy internal democracy of the Democratic Party, the fact that such theses with "ism" can be put forward. We should not focus on the term and fill it with negativity", said Boçi.
