Is Bashar al-Assad dead? The plane with which he escaped disappeared from the radars!

A few days before his 59th birthday (December 11), Bashar al-Assad has disappeared. After nearly 25 years in power - and 54 years for the Assad family - Syria's former president is not at the rebel-held presidential palace in Damascus.
"His tyranny is over," say the celebrating rebels, who announce that he has escaped.
But where has Assad gone?
According to information coming from Syria, it is said that Assad boarded an Ilyushin-76 plane of the Syrian Air Force, which took off in a hurry from Damascus International Airport, turned towards Homs, but then disappeared from radars.
Was Assad on that flight, and if so, did the plane go down somewhere, crash, or jam his transmitters? Is it dead, or will it reappear forming a government in exile?
These are some of the most frequently asked questions in recent hours.
FlightRadar24 confirmed that this flight took place, noting that some of the aircraft's transmitter data may be incorrect or missing, but "however, we believe the data generally gives a good indication of what happened by plane"
According to some media, based on flight radar data, it appears that the plane either crashed or made an emergency landing.
Whatever the fate of Assad, after half a century of rule of Syria by the Assad family and after bloody battles, the country's president who remained "alive" through a savage war, he was abandoned by all his allies.
The rebels took Damascus without much resistance as Russian and Iranian forces had withdrawn the day before and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) avoided engaging them.
Meanwhile, it is reported that his wife Asma, together with the three children, arrived in Russia yesterday.
