Airbnb co-founder named Trump's chief design officer

US President Donald Trump has named Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia as the new chief design officer for online government services.

He said his role was to update the government's online services - to make them as enjoyable to use as the Apple Store and to provide a design for a great user experience, which would run on modern software.

Gebbia said he would do his best to make the United States the most beautiful and usable place in the digital world.

He invited all those interested in working with the National Design Studio to submit a link to their previous work.
