Donald Trump names Tom Barrack as presidential envoy for Syria and Iraq

US President Donald Trump has announced the appointment of Tom Barrack as special presidential envoy for Syria and Iraq.

The news was announced by Trump himself through a post, where he praised Barrack's work and his role in strengthening US relations with the governments of Syria and Iraq.

According to the US president, Barrack will continue to hold the post of US ambassador to Turkey, while he will exercise his new duties with the full support of the US Department of State.

Trump stressed that his administration aims to deepen strategic cooperation with Syria and Iraq, adding that relations with both countries are constantly strengthening.
