"Development opportunities in the field of industry"/ Turkey ready to cooperate with Japan in drone production

Turkey is ready to cooperate with Japan in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), paving the way for joint development and production in the defense industry. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who assessed that such a partnership could create important opportunities for both countries.
Fidan emphasized that Turkey has become one of the most important drone producers internationally and that Ankara aims to further strengthen cooperation with Tokyo in the defense sector.
"Turkey and Japan have complementary capacities and we believe there is strong potential for mutually beneficial cooperation," he stated.
According to the Turkish chief diplomat, the country has developed advanced and field-tested capabilities in the field of unmanned aerial systems, as well as technologies for detecting and neutralizing drones, which could serve as the basis for joint projects with Japan.
In addition to the defense industry, Fidan underlined that there are great opportunities for cooperation in other strategic sectors, such as energy, digital transformation, robotics and advanced technologies.
He added that both countries could benefit from building more resilient supply chains and exchanging technological expertise, stressing that the current potential of cooperation between Turkey and Japan still remains far from being fully exploited.
