Integration/ The President of the EC is on a tour of the Western Balkans,

European Council President Antonio Costa will conduct a diplomatic tour of the six Western Balkan countries on the eve of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, where he will meet with regional leaders and co-chair the summit on June 5 in Tivat, Montenegro.

In a post on the social network X, Costa writes: This week, I will visit our six Western Balkan partners. My visit to the region sends a clear signal: our commitment to the Western Balkans is real; and so is the opportunity for enlargement. The moment is here. Now is the time to deliver.

The visit will begin on June 1 in Sarajevo, where Costa will hold meetings with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirović, Zeljka Cvijanovic and Zeljko Komsic, as well as with the President of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Kristo.

On June 2, the President of the European Council will visit Tirana, where he will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Bajram Begaj.

During his stay in the Albanian capital, he will also hold a meeting with students of the Tirana Campus of the College of Europe.

Following the regional tour, Costa will travel to Skopje to meet with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.

On June 3, the President of the European Council will stay in Pristina, where he is expected to meet with the acting President Albulena Haxhiu, the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as well as leaders of opposition parties.

The tour will continue on June 4 in Belgrade, where Costa will hold meetings with President Aleksandar Vucic, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, and representatives of civil society.

The regional visit will conclude in Montenegro, where President Jakov Milatovic will welcome regional leaders at an official dinner in Tivat, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence.

On June 5, Costa will co-chair the EU-Western Balkans Summit, together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
