Suspicious drone alerts German Federal Police, Munich airport closed

Munich International Airport has been closed since 09:00, following reports of a possible drone in the airspace. As a result, all takeoffs and landings have been suspended, while airport authorities do not yet have an estimate of when normal air traffic can resume.

According to the German federal police, two pilots had earlier reported the appearance of a drone near the airport, which has also triggered the launch of a major police operation on the ground to secure the area and verify the possible threat.

Authorities continue their investigations, while the situation still remains unclear regarding the return of normal operations at the airport.
