The National Assembly of the Democratic Party of Albania begins, the statutory changes and the new members of the Council are voted on

The Democratic Party has begun its National Assembly. This meeting comes immediately after the confirmation of Sali Berisha as head of the Democratic Party, in a race where he had no candidate facing him.
The Assembly began its work at 11.33 and was opened by Erisa Bajaziti, one of the Albanians living in Brussels and running for the DP in the parliamentary elections as a representative of the diaspora. During the Assembly's work, the leader of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazmend Bardhi, is expected to present proposals for statutory changes, which will be subject to discussion and approval by the delegates.
The agenda also includes the approval of the new composition of the National Council, a key structure in the organization and functioning of the party.
The National Assembly is also expected to determine the political and organizational directions that the Democratic Party will follow in the coming period. According to what has been announced earlier, the changes will not affect the so-called "Basha Article", which provides for restrictions for leaders who lose elections, as well as the Primaries mechanism for selecting candidates.
