The number of asylum applications filed in Germany has dropped significantly this year. For the first time in years, Germany did not accept more applications than other countries.

France has become the number one destination country for Ukrainians.

According to the report, the majority of those seeking protection in the EU, as well as Switzerland and Norway, came from Venezuela, followed by asylum seekers from Afghanistan and Syria.

Overall, the number of asylum requests from Venezuelans increased by 44 percent in the first quarter of this year.
