You can be fined with…/ Netflix's innovation is 'trapping' consumers

Netflix is now adding more live content to its streaming catalog.
You might be excited to watch your favorite shows in real time, but wait!
Because this can be a "trap" and can even result in a hefty fine.
The problem lies in the fact that consumers may still need a TV license to watch live shows even if they appear on a streaming service like Netflix.
With a newly increased price of £174.50, paying for a TV licence isn't cheap.
However, it is still much less than the fine you could face for not having one.
“Failure to pay for a TV licence could lead to a fine of £1,000 if we find that you have watched, recorded or downloaded programmes illegally,” TV Licensing explains on its website.
The maximum fine is £2,000 in Guernsey. Plus any legal costs and/or compensation you may be ordered to pay.'
Typically, you don't need a TV license to watch streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Disney+.
However, you still need a license to watch live programs, regardless of whether you are using a streaming service or not.
