WhatsApp stops working on some iPhone models from May - Durrës News

If you're one of those who haven't parted with an old iPhone yet, it might be time to consider a new device. Starting May 5, 2025, WhatsApp will no longer work on some older iPhone models, due to new app updates from the company Meta.
WhatsApp will no longer be supported on iPhones running iOS older than version 15.1, specifically:
Users who still have one of these models will no longer be able to use the app after this date unless their device supports a newer version of the operating system – which, in the case of these three models, is no longer possible beyond iOS 12.5.7.
Meta says that updates are a regular part of efforts to keep the application secure, functional, and compatible with the latest technologies.
This isn't the first time WhatsApp has discontinued service for older devices - as of January 1, 2025, the app will no longer work on some Android models, such as:
• Samsung: Galaxy S3, Note 2, Ace 3, S4 Mini
• Motorola: Moto G (1st generation), Razr HD, Moto E 2014
• HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601
If you're still using one of these models, maintaining your contacts, chats, and app functionality requires an inevitable change: a new phone.
