Samir Mane on the Forbes list: 67% of billionaires are people who started from

Samir Mane, a few days ago, was listed by the prestigious Forbes on the list of the world's billionaires, making him the first businessman in Albania and the Western Balkans to be included in the ranking. His fortune is estimated at 1.4 billion dollars.

On the "Opinion" show on Tv Klan, Mane shared how he learned the news about the ranking and revealed that the first people he shared it with were his family. But what are the factors that make him the only billionaire in the Western Balkans region compared to countries that are larger and more economically powerful than Albania?

In addition, the businessman highlighted two other important aspects of the Forbes list regarding the increase in the number of billionaires. First, the return of Saudi Arabia to the list and second, 67% of the list consists of billionaires who created their wealth from scratch.

Blendi Fevziu:  You are the only billionaire in the entire Western Balkans, I am talking about Croatia, which is a country of the European Union, where one of the billionaires, the only billionaire in Croatia, is actually a Russian with a Croatian passport, a Russian-Croatian. How is it explained that Serbia, a large country, Croatia does not have billionaires?

Samir Mane:  Of course, their economies are very large, but this means that a large part of them work with partners, so they have large companies but there are 3-4 partners. This is about individual income, not company income. There are many large companies in Croatia, Croatia was there and it fell, there was a billionaire who is no longer on the Forbes list, so this is about individual income because a large part of the European tradition is with partnerships, 3-4 partners work on a project. I am sure that there may be or may be in the process.

Blendi Fevziu:  At least for the past 15-20 years that I have been curiously looking at the Forbes list, I have noticed another change that impressed me, Turkey was a country with 3-4 billionaires 20 years ago, let's say, right there with Greece, while today Turkey has a huge boom in billionaires compared to Greece. Why is this happening?

Samir Mane:  Of course it is a large economy, it has a very large gross domestic product, very large exports and undoubtedly the time has come for it to produce its own billionaires because the economy is a large economy that produces a lot for export. But the important thing about this list is that the world has never seen so many billionaires.

Blendi Fevziu:  How is this explained, billionaires only grow?

Samir Mane:  This year has seen the greatest historical growth, undoubtedly due to the growth of the global economy, as well as other factors.

Blendi Fevziu:  But only 1 country was added, there were 77 countries, the 78th that falls should be the addition of Albania.

Samir Mane:  It also comes from the return to the Forbes list of Saudi Arabia. They have not been on the list for a long time, they have now returned to the list, so a large part of the billionaires come from Saudi Arabia. The second thing to see on the list and very important is that 2029 billionaires out of 3029 are self-made. 67% of Forbes today are people who started from scratch in every corner of the planet and this is a great optimism for all young people, but not only young people to see the opportunity to move forward, to develop, to create their own economy at every stage of life because it is very important that out of 3000, 2000 are 'self-made'. So it increases the maximum optimism for people to go towards private entrepreneurship.
