JD Vance: US forced to attack Iran if nuclear dialogue fails

US Vice President JD Vance says that, although some progress has been made in today's talks with Iran on its nuclear program, the Islamic Republic is not willing to accept some of the limits set by Washington.

"In some respects, the morning negotiations went well. They agreed to meet later, but in some respects it was very clear that the president has set some limits that the Iranians are not yet willing to accept and meet, " Vance said in an interview with Fox News.

Explaining a little more about these limits, Vance said that the US will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, arguing that this would cause a worldwide arms race, which would be dangerous for America.

He added that President Donald Trump "reserves the right" to decide when diplomacy has reached its limits.

Trump has previously threatened Iran with military strikes and bolstered US forces in the Middle East, but has recently shown a commitment to talks with Iran.

"We will continue the work, but of course the president has the right to decide when he thinks diplomacy has reached its natural end. We hope we don't get to that point, but if there is a possibility of attacks, the decision will be the president's, " he added.
