Trump said he would reach "a great deal," Iran lists three red lines

Over the weekend, progress appeared to be being made in peace talks between Iran and the US, before Donald Trump told both sides not to "rush" to a deal.

He said he would take "a great deal or no deal."

Later, the US launched attacks on Iran, while in recent hours, Iranian state media has listed what Tehran's red lines are in the negotiations:

Nuclear situation: The IRNA news agency said that maintaining “the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program” is not open to compromise. Trump has repeatedly said that Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, while reports suggest that the US wants Tehran to hand over its enriched uranium.

Strait of Hormuz: The report claims that the two sides had reached a “comprehensive de-escalation mechanism” to end the fighting. But rather than returning to pre-war conditions, a red line for Iran is “Washington’s recognition of Iran’s right to intelligence and operational surveillance over this key waterway.” For some time now, Iran has been demanding a measure of control over the waterway in any post-war scenario.

Frozen funds: The release of Iranian funds held under sanctions is also essential for Tehran – especially those held in Qatar.
