United States President Donald Trump has said that JD Vance is the "favorite" to succeed him as President of the United States.

In a significant boost to the vice president's chances of securing the Republican nomination in 2028, Trump praised Vance for "a great job."

"I think it's very likely that he'll be vice president. And I think Marco Rubio is also someone who would probably join JD in some way. Also, I think we have extraordinary people, some of the people on the stage here. So it's too early, of course, to talk about that. But, of course, he's doing a great job and would probably be favored at this point," Trump said.
