China responded to the US with retaliatory tariffs, Donald Trump reacts: Wrong

US President Donald Trump reacted after China responded with retaliatory tariffs on America.

"China's move was wrong, they panicked," said Donald Trump, commenting on the tariffs imposed today by the Asian country.

Beijing reacted sharply to new tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, as part of what he called "Liberation Day", causing chaos in global markets.

As announced by the Ministry of Finance, China is imposing tariffs of 34% on all imports of goods from the US, starting April 10, the same as the reciprocal tariffs - against Trump - that the US imposed yesterday on the world's second largest economy.

Chinese authorities also announced that they will impose export restrictions on seven types of rare earth elements with immediate effect. They will also launch an anti-dumping investigation into medical CT scanners imported from the US and India, and ban imports of poultry products from two US companies.

In addition, Beijing adds 11 US defense industry companies to the list of unsecured entities and will impose export controls on 16 US companies.

Beijing's move came after Trump announced that he would impose a 34% tariff on all imports of Chinese goods, in addition to the 20% horizontal tax that the US president imposed this year, increasing the total burden to 54%, a move that could significantly affect Chinese exports to the US.
