War with Iran, US sends 5,000 marines to the Strait of Hormuz

The Pentagon is sending more Navy units and several warships to the Middle East as Iran intensifies attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved Centcom's request for several warships and about 5,000 Marines, the Wall Street Journal reports.

President Trump declared that it is unlikely that Iranians will rebel against the regime anytime soon, adding:  "I will feel it in my bones when the war with Iran is over."

Meanwhile, all six crew members of the KC-135 supply plane that crashed in western Iraq on Thursday have died, according to US Central Command, while 16 service members have been killed during Operation Epic Fury.
