Donald Trump described the conclusion of the talks in The Hague, on Wednesday, June 25, as "a fantastic NATO summit" and "a great success."

"I support Article 5 ," the US president declared, referring to the commitment of NATO member countries to mutual defense in the event of an attack on one of them.

Trump's statement came hours after leaders of NATO member countries agreed to increase defense investments, committing to an annual spending of 5% of GDP by 2035 for defense and security needs.

In the final declaration of the NATO Summit, it was emphasized that the Allies reaffirmed their commitment to collective defense under Article 5, which stipulates that "an attack on one is an attack on all."
