Thousands protest in Iraq against Israel's war on Iran

Thousands of Iraqi protesters have taken to the streets of Baghdad to protest the war that Israel launched against Iran on June 13. In the southern port city of Basra, nearly 2,000 protesters gathered on a boulevard, an AFP photographer reported.

"This is a baseless war, Israel and the United States have always wanted to control the Middle East," the protesters said.

Israel and Iran continued their relentless attacks on each other on Friday as the Middle East conflict entered its second week. Iranian ballistic missiles hit the city of Beersheba for the second day in a row this morning, while Iran said it had targeted a technology park used by the Israeli military.
