Situation escalates / Russia warns the US: Do not help Israel militarily against Iran

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned today that direct US military aid to Israel could fundamentally destabilize the situation in the Middle East, where a war between Iran and Israel has been going on for six days.

The head of Russia's SVR foreign intelligence service, Sergei Naryshkin, has stated that the situation between Iran and Israel is now critical.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister's Warning

Ryabkov warned the United States not to provide direct military aid to Israel or to consider "such ecological options," according to the Russian news agency Interfax.

"This would be a step that would radically destabilize the entire situation," he was quoted as saying.

Earlier, a source familiar with internal US discussions said that President Donald Trump and his team are considering a range of options, including joining Israel in strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.
