"Neuralink" implants a chip in the brain for the first time
Elon Musk announced that 24 hours ago his startup "Neuralink" implanted for the first time, one of his chips in the brain of a human being, according to "Quotidiano Nazionale".

"The device is called 'Telepathy' and it allows you to control your phone or computer and through them, almost any tool, just by thinking," Musk said at X.

The first users will be people who have lost the use of their limbs.

“Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a typist or an auctioneer. This is the goal," he said. During an invasive surgical operation, the implant called 'Link', about the size of five stacked coins, is inserted into the patient's brain.

"The patient is recovering well and initial results show promising discovery of information in the brain," announced Musk.

Musk's ambition is to increase brain capacity and cure neurological disorders, such as ALS or Parkinson's, and one day be able to create a symbiosis between humans and artificial intelligence.

Last year, Neuralink received authorization from the Food and Drug Administration, the US regulatory authority for medical therapies, and began recruiting volunteers for testing in late 2023.
