Could Pahlavi, the exiled son of the last Shah of Iran, take over the country? Here's how Trump reacted

President Donald Trump, during a White House briefing, downplayed the possibility of exiled Iranian activist Reza Pahlavi taking over Iran, stressing that he would prefer a figure who is inside the country.
"Some people like it and we haven't thought much about it," Trump said.
"It seems to me that someone from within would probably be more appropriate," the president added.
Pahlavi, the son of Iran's last shah, has emerged as one of the most popular figures of the Iranian opposition in exile.
However, Trump said that, although "he seems like a very good person," it is more likely that a figure who is in Iran and enjoys popular support, "if such a person exists," would be a more suitable candidate to lead the country.
