Diplomatic clash between the parties, Trump threatens Iran: You will pay the price for delays in negotiations

US President Donald Trump declared that Iran would "pay the price" after, according to him, it delayed negotiations to reach an agreement with Washington.

The statement was made through a post on the social network Truth Social, at a time when tensions between the two countries have increased significantly.

"Iran is all talk and no action. The Middle East bully is DEAD!!! They have taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!" Trump wrote.

The US president did not provide details on what he meant by the term "price", but the statement comes after recent military developments in the region and the escalation of relations between the US and Iran.

The US reportedly launched a new wave of strikes against Iranian targets on Tuesday after a US Army Apache helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz.

A US official told CNN that the latest attacks were a warning to Iran. According to him, Washington believes that these actions will not hinder negotiations to end the conflict and that there is still room for a diplomatic solution.
