Kosovo Prosecution files indictment against 6 Serbs for setting up barricades in

The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment against 6 Serbs, who are suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of "Conspiracy for unconstitutional activities, with the aim of attacking the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo" and "Obstruction of an official person in the performance of official duty".

According to the Prosecution's announcement, the defendants DM, DD, MR, NJ, NO and SV are accused of having, in the period from December 10 to 29, 2022, in the northern municipalities of Kosovo, acted in complicity to obstruct the institutions of Kosovo from exercising state authority and establishing constitutional order.

The indictment states that the defendants, through the use of force and violence, organized and set up barricades on main roads, using heavy equipment, including trucks filled with gravel, excavators, ambulances, buses and other vehicles.

"Also, from their actions it results that, in the event of Kosovo Police intervention to remove the barricades and restore freedom of movement, the members of the group were ready to attack police officers with the means at their disposal ," the Special Prosecution Office said in its announcement.

According to the prosecution, investigations against 11 other individuals with the initials MR, AS, AF, AJ, RS, SA, DV, SP, VR, MR, and MR have been suspended, "as they are currently inaccessible" to Kosovo's justice authorities.
