"She was protecting her father", Ivana Trump reacts after the assassination: Two years ago today, my mother passed away

Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump said her mother Ivana was "watching over daddy" when the former president survived an assassination attempt on Saturday night.

"Two years ago today, my mother passed away. I believe she was protecting Daddy last night during the assassination attempt," Ivanka wrote on social media about her mother Ivana Trump, who died in 2022 at the age of 73.

Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Trump and the mother of Ivanka, Eric and Don Jr., died after falling down the stairs at her Manhattan home, authorities said at the time.

The former model's death was described as "accidental" by the coroner's office.

The anniversary of Ivana Trump's death comes a day after a sniper, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, shot and wounded former President Trump from a rooftop about 130 feet away as Trump spoke to supporters in Pennsylvania.
