Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted sharply after the Hague Prosecution's request for 45-year prison sentences for the four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
In a statement on X, Rama said that he still cannot understand the logic on which the Prosecution relied to come up with such a request, describing it as unreasonable and unacceptable. According to him, this is a heavy blow that comes from the heart of democratic Europe.
The Prime Minister said he is still shocked by the pretense and that he needs time to emotionally process what he described as an extreme act against four men who, according to him, represent the liberation war of Kosovo.
Friends from Pristina ask me why you are not speaking out about your friend who was today charged with 45 years in prison at the behest of the Hague prosecutor's office?! I can't speak out, as I am still trying to find where the logical thread that the prosecution followed to come up with the request for the burial of the four men alive comes from and as never before, words do not help me express myself...
