"They have removed the collaborators of justice", Lapaj denounces the change in the code: Attacks on the reform in justice

The leader of the "Albania Becomes" Movement, Adriatik Lapaj, invited to the "Off the Record" studio by Andrea Danglli, on A2CNN, said that with the changes to the code, an attack has been made on the justice reform.

Lapaj noted that the article regarding collaborators of justice has been changed, removing the prosecutor's ability to entice persons under investigation with agreements that could unravel a certain corrupt scheme. 

" A very serious fact that has occurred with the changes to the Criminal Code has not been captured. It has changed the article that deals with collaborators of justice. So those who along the way repent and seek cooperation with the justice bodies, and in exchange for that receive a reduced sentence or exemption from a severe punishment, these have abolished it with the latest changes. Why have they done it? They have made all those who are being arrested and are being investigated stop talking because if until yesterday they were lured by justice with the approach you are talking about, if you cooperate you will be exempted or the punishment will be reduced, now they no longer have it because they removed it by law," said Lapaj. 

"It is a real attempt on justice reform. A very serious attempt. Not taking away the prosecutor's opportunity to lure one of the people under investigation with an agreement means killing the potential collaborator who could unravel the scheme ," added the head of Albania Becomes.
