US unveils major security and visa plan for 2026 World Cup

The head of the White House Task Force for the 2026 World Cup, Andrew Giuliani, has announced that the US administration is preparing extensive security and hospitality measures to guarantee a safe and successful tournament.

Giuliani stressed that security remains a priority: "We will do everything in our power to make this World Cup safe and successful... Security and hospitality will prevail."

He warned of zero tolerance for the use of drones near stadiums during the World Cup, referring to a previous case of violating airspace restrictions.

For visas, Giuliani confirmed that the waiting time in Turkey has been reduced from 16 months to just 2, while the special FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (PASS) for tournament ticket holders will be launched in early 2026.

According to him: "If you have a World Cup ticket, you will be able to skip the queue for a visa."

The United States, along with Canada and Mexico, will host 5 to 7 million international visitors, while the 11 host cities will have federal coordination teams to ensure the same standards of security and organization.
