Hantavirus outbreak on cruise ship, several European countries will send planes to pick up their citizens

Germany, France, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands confirm that they will send planes to pick up their citizens from the cruise ship where the hantavirus outbreak occurred and where at least 8 cases of the virus have been confirmed.
The European Union is sending two additional planes for remaining European citizens. The US and Britain have also confirmed that agreements have been made to send planes, as well as to draw up contingency plans for non-European citizens whose countries are unable to send planes.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, arrived in Spain today, where he will meet with senior government officials in Tenerife, to discuss the safe departure of passengers from the cruise ship where the virus outbreak began.
Ghebreyesus said he is in contact with the ship's captain, while a WHO colleague on board said that at this stage, there are no other people on the ship who have symptoms of hantavirus.
