Storm 'Byron' hits Greece, schools to close tomorrow

Schools in Rhodes will remain closed on Friday, December 5. The reason for this will be the bad weather that is forecast to hit the island.
According to the National Meteorological Service's emergency bulletin, Rhodes is in the areas expected to be most affected by severe weather.
The decision to close schools tomorrow was announced by the mayor of Rhodes, Alexandros Koliadis.
Specifically, the decision of the mayor of Rhodes reads as follows:
"We suspend the operation of all school units, all educational levels and sports facilities, in all Municipal Units of the territory of the municipality of Rhodes on Friday, December 5, 2025, for the preventive protection of public safety.
The suspension also applies to Preschool Education units and all Special Schools and Creative Activities Centers for Children. This also applies to the Municipal Conservatory and all types of workshops operating in the municipality of Rhodes.
