Brazilian businessman Antonio Vinicius Gritzbach was executed at Sao Paulo's international airport in Guaruljo, while three other people were injured.

A gunman opened fire on the businessman after he got out of a black car parked outside the airport's Terminal 2, which is mainly used for domestic flights.

Antonio Vinicius Gritzbach had received threats on his life from the Brazilian criminal gang known as the PCC. The cryptocurrency businessman had been accused of laundering money for the PCC criminal group and had recently entered into a deal with prosecutors to provide information about the criminal organization, according to police. Videos published on social networks show the moment when the victim is shot dead outside the airport.

The PCC, created in August 1993, has become Brazil's most dangerous criminal gang, taking over drug markets, smuggling routes, slums and prisons across Brazil, including in remote corners of the Amazon. In recent years, the group has increased its international ties, forging lucrative alliances with partners such as Bolivian cocaine producers and Italian mobsters.
