New revelations about Epstein, Sarah Ferguson's foundation shuts down

Sarah Ferguson's charitable foundation, known as Sarah's Trust, has announced it will close "indefinitely", just days after the US Department of Justice released new documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

According to a spokesperson for the foundation, the decision to close was made after discussions that lasted for several months, but without providing further details on the specific reasons.

The decision comes at a delicate moment, as among the over three million documents released last week by US authorities, there are also emails that appear to show that Sarah Ferguson was in contact with Epstein, even while he was serving a sentence for sexually exploiting a minor.

Sarah's Trust was founded in 2020 and had as its mission the support of humanitarian and environmental initiatives, the fight against hunger and extreme poverty.

"With regret, Chair Sarah Ferguson and the board of trustees have agreed that the foundation will soon close indefinitely," the official statement said.

This is not the first time Ferguson's ties to Epstein have come under fire. Over the past year, several charities have removed her from their ambassador roles, deeming her continued association with them inappropriate.

In the recently released documents, Ferguson is described in several emails as calling Epstein "the brother I always loved," while in another message she congratulates him on the birth of a "son."

Other emails relate to her business projects, with Ferguson asking Epstein for advice on launching the company "Mothers Army."
