New details have emerged from the tridents placed in the early hours of the morning at two businesses in Durrës. The bar in the Lulishte area, near the Mausoleum of the Martyrs, is owned by the convicted Gëzim Kajno.

Kajno was convicted of the murder of Asllan Kërtusha in 2016, and in 2024 he was arrested by the Police and after his arrest he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder" and "Unlicensed Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition", a sentence of which he has 4 years left to serve.

The Court of First Instance sentenced Gëzim Kajno to 6 years, while the prosecution appealed the decision to the higher courts. The Supreme Court's turn to review the case came in 2023, at a time when the 39-year-old had served his 6-year sentence and was released from prison.

After being released from prison, Kajno resumed work, opening a bar-cafe in Durrës, a business that almost collapsed in the early hours of this morning.

How did the incident happen?

Asllan Kërtusha, then 29 years old, was sitting in the bar of one of the perpetrators and, in a drunken state, began to insult the customers.

In these circumstances, the owner of the bar, Gëzim Kajno, asked Kërtusha not to insult the customers. After the conflict in the bar, the fight between the two moved outside the business.

Kërtusha attempted to leave by taxi, but was forcibly removed from the car by Gëzim Kajno, who shot him in the heart, killing him on the spot.
