Submission of balance sheets blocked/ Businesses under stress, overloaded system risks procedure outside legal deadlines
July 31 is the deadline for businesses to submit their financial statements to the National Business Center. But for a month now, the system has been experiencing technical problems and is not accepting applications.
Entrepreneurs are worried as the deadline approaches.
"We have been trying to complete the application for about a month. The system gives us errors, crashes, and does not accept our applications. There are many businesses that are encountering this problem at all hours of the day. We have not received any reaction from the authorities on this issue," says Adela Kanani, executive director of the Alliance of Freelance Professionals.
In case of failure to submit financial statements on time, the law also provides for penalties, which are generated directly by the system.
"If the date August 1 is entered directly into the system, a fine of 60 thousand lek is generated. This is unnecessary pressure for all businesses that constantly try to complete this procedure, but cannot. The system even leaves no trace that we have tried several times, because after every technical problem the application starts from scratch", explained Kanani.
The submission of balances is done through the E-Albania platform. When contacted about this issue, the National Agency for Technology and Information and the National Business Center said that the system is in working order.
Applications are being filed even though the system is overloaded. But it remains to be seen until the final deadline whether all businesses will be able to complete this legal procedure on time./ Vizion Plus
