Finland and the Nordic countries, at the top of the world - Albania holds 84th

The 2025 World Happiness Report by Global Relocate provides a clear picture of the well-being of people around the world, based on indicators such as subjective happiness and levels of social progress. The Nordic countries, known for their strong health, education and social welfare systems, continue to dominate the list.

While these countries are progressing at a rapid pace, Balkan countries, including Albania, face challenges that negatively affect the daily lives of their citizens.
Albania ranks 84th on the list, with a happiness level of 5.28 points. Although it is not at the bottom of the ranking, its position remains low compared to European countries and even some of its neighbors in the region.

As for other Balkan countries, Serbia ranks higher than Albania, in 44th place, with a happiness level of 6.14 points. Montenegro also fares better, in 67th place, with a level of 5.72 points. Bosnia and Herzegovina ranks 71st with a happiness level of 5.63 points, and North Macedonia is in 86th place, with a rating of 5.25 points. These data show that most countries in the region share a similar reality.

At the top of the list for 2025 is Finland with a happiness level of 7.8 points. It is followed by Denmark with 7.59 points and Iceland with 7.53 points. On the other hand, at the bottom of the ranking is Afghanistan, with a very low happiness level of only 1.86 points. Lebanon ranks second to last with 2.39 points, while Sierra Leone is in 134th place with 3.14 points. These countries face extreme poverty, political crises, a pronounced lack of security and internal conflicts that make daily life extremely difficult for citizens./ SCAN
