As the New Year approaches, doctors at the University Trauma Hospital are calling for increased caution during the holidays, warning of an increase in road accidents, injuries from fireworks, and the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption.

In a video message published by the Ministry of Health, medical staff emphasize that every year during the festive period, the number of traumas and accidents increases significantly.

Ervin Sulaj, head of the Anesthesia-Reanimation Service, appeals for more responsibility in driving vehicles, while Agustin Suma, head of the Emergency Department, announces that the trauma and emergency service is on standby 24 hours a day for any emergency.

Meanwhile, ophthalmologist Leodita Gjana warns of the danger posed by the careless use of fireworks, especially eye damage.

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare announces that hospitals and emergency rooms will be on full alert during the holidays, especially on December 31 and January 1–2.

Your care can save lives: drive responsibly, use fireworks with caution, and consume alcohol in moderation.
