The most defining meeting of the year begins! Zelensky arrives in Florida

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Florida for what is widely seen as the most defining meeting of the year. At the Mar-a-Lago estate, the Ukrainian president sat across from Donald Trump, hoping to find a formula to end the Russian war. Zelensky expressed optimism, saying that many decisions could be made before the New Year, but everything depends on the support of partners.

Before welcoming the Kiev leader, Trump made a key move: a direct phone call with Vladimir Putin. The US President himself described the conversation as “very good and productive.” This statement was immediately retweeted by Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin envoy, who called it an “important day on the path to peace.”

Official Moscow confirmed that, in addition to Ukraine, Trump and Putin also discussed the situation in the Middle East. This feverish diplomatic activity comes at a time of high tension, as Kiev and Washington are preparing a joint statement addressed to the Ukrainian armed forces, which is expected to be made public before the start of the talks.

Today's scenario does not end only in Florida. Immediately after the one-on-one meeting, Trump and Zelensky will hold a joint call with key European leaders. The goal is clear: to coordinate a unified front on the next steps. As the world awaits the results from the dining room at Mar-a-Lago, the question remains whether this dialogue will really be the big turning point that will stop Russian aggression.

The Ukrainian president has with him his own version of the 20-point peace plan, a revised version of the Trump plan from the Ukrainian perspective, which accepts the withdrawal from targeted but still unoccupied areas by the Russians in Donbas and the creation of free economic zones.

However, Russia does not give up on the territorial concessions that Ukraine must make, the renunciation of NATO membership, and the ban on the entry of foreign soldiers, which have been contested to this day by Kiev.
