Plague outbreak/ Sale of sheep and goats banned in Albanian territory

The movement of live sheep and goats from farm to farm, migration and grazing on pastures, throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, is temporarily prohibited.

Also, the trade of sheep and goats in live animal markets, open spaces, fairs and other gatherings is temporarily prohibited throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania.

The movement of live sheep and goats is permitted only to the slaughterhouse, accompanied by a veterinary health certificate issued by the official veterinarian.

The decision comes after an outbreak of plague in small livestock.
