Researcher Lea Ypi, the first Albanian elected to the British Academy

The writer, Lea Ypi, has been elected the first Albanian member of the British Academy. This academy this year has welcomed 86 new members, among them the Albanian writer Lea Ypi.

The news was made public by the writer herself who, through a post and some photos, showed that she is honored to have been elected a member of the British Academy.

"Happy and honored to be elected a member of the British Academy. (The first Albanian woman)", - writes Ypi.

The president of the British Academy Julia Black has praised the Albanian author, welcoming her to the highest space of British culture.
