Albanians have the illusion that they are equal to the Slavo-Macedonians! This is the historical term that belongs to them, because we all know, even they themselves, that they have no connection with the Macedonians! In fact, if we study history well, the only ones who are related to the Macedonians of antiquity are exactly the Albanians! In fact it is not so! Formally, Albanians have won many of their legitimate rights! However, the great inequality of Albanians is not at the constitutional or institutional level, but at the structural and social level!
The de jure commanders in North Macedonia remain the Slavo-Macedonians! In fact, if you make a trip to North Macedonia in the countries where Albanians are the majority, you will get the impression that they are a minority! Albanian is increasingly rare in use! From Skopje to Dibër, almost no one in the auto-grills speaks Albanian, not even when passing through Tetovo! The ads are almost all Slavic! Opposite, as soon as you pass Skopje, on the top of the hill, you can see the big cross, which if it represented religion would not be a problem, but in a country where the Orthodox religion has become a state and nationalist policy, it is clear that that cross has no religious mission. !
This summer I came from Bulgaria to North Macedonia! Customs point without a point of professionalism with employees who do not know English or any European language! Border control employees that none of them know Albanian or even if they want to, they prefer not to speak it! You don't know how to deal with them, because even when you speak Albanian, thinking that it is allowed by the Constitution, they get even more irritated by becoming aggressive! He comes to Bllatë and all the customs employees are Slavs even though "Dibra e Madhe" is an Albanian majority! As soon as you enter Dibër e Madhe, you realize that it is a city with an Albanian majority, because it is poorer and more backward than other parts that have a Slavic-Macedonian majority!
If you even transit through most of North Macedonia, being Albanian gives you the impression that you are unwanted! I notice this very easily in any kind of contact with the Slavo-Macedonians! Therefore, Albanians have formally achieved equality with the Constitution and institutions, but they are far from structural and social equality!
Becoming the first Albanian Prime Minister is good news! However, there is a big dilemma, whether this thing serves or will serve the Albanians, or the Albanian political elite has already become part of an almost authoritarian and corrupt system that only serves the interests of minorities! We hope that the Albanian Prime Minister, although with symbolic powers, will do something for the Albanians, leaving a structural and not only historical mark! The latter, if it is not at the service of people, remains only a historical fact in the memory, but of no use to people!
