Why does everyone want to know where Basha is and what he's doing?!

Why does everyone want to know where Basha is and what he's doing?!

In fact, a year ago I wrote an article titled: "They accuse him of sleeping, but he's keeping them awake." And apparently, time is proving that narrative even more true. All those who accuse Lulzim Basha of "sleeping" are actually the ones who don't sleep well because of him. From Rama, Meta, Berisha and recently even Taulant Balla, everyone wants to know: Where is Basha and what is Basha doing?

In politics, no one deals with someone who has no weight. No one attacks someone they do not consider a factor, especially when he is no longer an MP or on the front lines of active politics. This is where the real concern of Basha's opponents begins. Even though he has long been out of the daily political noise, his name continues to produce reaction, nervousness and coordinated attacks.

Taulant Balla returns to Basha again not by chance. Because he knows very well that Basha still remains the symbol of a part of the democrats who do not accept bargains, old politics and the folklore of permanent conflict. He may not be on the screen every day, but it is clear that his political presence continues to be strong in the minds of his opponents.

The paradox is interesting: They call it politically dead, but they don't stop talking about it. They consider it out of the question, but every week they feel the need to attack it, and when someone is attacked so often, it means they still bother.

Meanwhile, Taulant Balla should remember a little of his political past before giving lectures or personally dealing with Basha. Within the Socialist Party itself, old socialist figures treated him like the man who was brought in to get and serve coffee. In Elbasan, everyone remembers how local gangs did not take him seriously as a political figure, but as a political soldier who was used for certain interests. Albanians have not forgotten the images of 2021, where Balla greeted and shook hands with characters connected to the criminal world.

Without going into the files that could be returned or opened by SPAK, Taulant Balla has every reason to be concerned about himself and his political past. His concern should not be what Lulzim Basha does, but what might happen tomorrow for those who for years built power in the shadow of dark connections or those who saw Albanian institutions as a place to employ their family members.

Perhaps the biggest problem for Basha's opponents is the fact that he did not obey the traditional schemes of Albanian politics. He refused to become part of the dark alliances and did not join the hate speech that dominated political life for years.

In the end, the question remains simple: If Lulzim Basha no longer has political significance, why does everyone continue to deal with him?!
