The photogenic black bull named Romeo is believed to be the tallest in the world

A black Holstein bull, affectionately named Romeo, is believed to be already the tallest in the world at 1.85 meters tall. He lives on a reservation in Oregon, USA, where he has been brought since he was small after being born on a dairy farm.

With its height, it surpasses the current record holder, a bull named Tommy, also from the USA, in Massachusetts.

Welcome Home Animal Sanctuary founder Misty Moore said Romeo was rescued from a cattle farm along with another bull named Milo.

"He was rescued by a lady who went to the farm and saw the animals in their little quarters, and managed to secure the release of five of them.

"After getting him out of the dairy farm she contacted the reserve and we got Romeo and Milo here."

Moore says they have started the process of having Romeo recognized by world records as the tallest cow.

The admirable bovine has become famous on the web and with park visitors marveling at its size.

Officials said: "Despite his huge size, Romeo plays and runs like a cub.

"He is a gentle and sensitive giant, very intelligent. Cows are friends, not food!"

The current height record is held by Tommy, a 13-year-old Swiss bull who lives on a farm in Massachusetts.
